In a proactive stride towards holistic student well-being, Via Nova School’s two social workers and intervention officer recently participated in a transformative training session.
The event, led by Celeste Swanepoel, delved into the Family Support Model for Addiction Recovery. Covering a comprehensive array of topics, from drug classification and addiction comprehension to co-dependency dynamics, treatment alternatives, and relapse prevention strategies, the training offered an invaluable toolkit.

SACAP Students
Shaney van der Bank and Joshua Cooper
The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) contracted with Via Nova School to allow the SACAP students to complete their Honours Degree practical component at the school.
The SACAP students assisted the learners and staff in the following ways: individual and group counseling, as well as workshops with the staff.
These students also participated in a community project on the school grounds, where a school clean-up was planned and the school grounds were made safe and secure for the learners and staff. Additionally, the SACAP students held a jumble sale to raise funds to provide additional counseling resources to the school.
The SACAP students would like to thank the school for providing them with the opportunity to learn and grow.
