Middle Phase

The middle phase consists of 5 classes, namely:

  • 3 Afrikaans; and
  • 2 English classes

The learners in the Middle Phase range between the ages of 11 and 13 years. The programme in the Middle Phase is based on the D-CAPS Curriculum (Differentiated Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement). This programme is divided into three main subjects namely:

  • Language
  • Mathematics
  • Life Skills

Life Skills comprises of Life Orientation, Physical Education and Creative Arts.

There are no tests or examinations and assessment is done in accordance with the prescribed curriculum.
